MSNBC Correspondents Martin Bashir resigned from MSNBC because he suggested that someone crap down Sarah Palin’s mouth.

While some of you think that Sarah Palin had it coming to her, what bugs me about the whole deal about Martin Bashir resigning from MSNBC is that he really didn’t have to say a thing about her.

I’m really sick and tired of hearing about Sarah Palin. What Martin said about her was really unwise. MSNBC’s not owned by him, so he’s got to know what his limits are. Meanwhile, liberal blogs and bloggers go ignored, once again.

There are plenty of liberal blogs and bloggers that go ignored while Fox, CNN, and MSNBC give conservative blogs and bloggers a ton of mention. Every single day I hear about some conservative blog or blogger I never read, or spokesperson like Sarah Palin I never listen to, and I’m thinking “Why are they telling me about this person?”

I’d rather know what Oliver Willis of The Daily Banter thinks. But you know what, no one’s ever put him on television. And he’s been at it since 2000.

And I can think of a number of liberal blogs like Think Progress and The Root, and Grio, and the list goes on – and on.

MSNBC and Martin Bashir would have done a better job trying to make us aware of the content from those blogs rather than piss us off with the task of hearing about something else Sarah Palin said. I mean, who gives a care?

I have the impression MSNBC’s paid a few bucks just for one of their hosts to mention Sarah Palin, and it was Martin’s turn at bat.

Tired of being told what to say about a has-been politician who made millions off the bad image the white male-dominated GOP crafted for her, Martin had enough and figured that he was going to teach MSNBC a lesson.

Well, he didn’t really do that – just pissed off a lot of people, got MSNBC a lot of attention, upset whoever’s pulling their chain who’s writing the checks to make sure Palin’s name stays in the public eye, and then got suspended.

And presumably when Phil Griffin, MSNBCs President, gave Martin some new ground rules, Bashir undoubtedly said screw off and resigned.

Good for him. I’m not sure it will stop the Sarah Palin gravy train, but at least it will slow it down a beat.

Stay tuned.
