CES 2014 is almost around the corner. Zennie62Media will cover the giant Las Vegas event for the fifth straight year, January 5th to January 11th, and weave it with coverage of The New Media Expo, January 4th to January 7th 2014.

As International CES Manager of International Communications Allison Freed explained in the video above, the event and exhibit focus for much of CES 2014 will be the Las Vegas Venetian Hotel.

The Venetian Hotel will have several exciting new zones for CES 2014. Among them are two that caught my eye, the Eureka Park TechZone, Academia Tech Zone, and Fashion Tech.

The Eureka Park TechZone will span more than 2,000 square meters and showcase more than 200 exhibitors at the 2014 CES. Eureka Park will be located on level one of The Venetian and returns as the vibrant hub for the entrepreneur and startup communities to learn, connect, inspire.

Academia Tech TechZone focuses on new tech coming out of colleges and at CES 2014. This is something largely ignored by event planners outside the universities themselves – recall the annual Berkeley Play Conference as one such show. But now International CES changes that with this new addition.

FashionWare, a new lifestyle-focused exhibit at the 2014 International CES® produced in partnership with Living in Digital Times, will showcase the latest innovations in wearable technology that mix fashion and function, from connected glasses to health monitoring devices.

“From jackets that adjust based on outside temperatures to solar-charging handbags and more, innovations in wearable technology are shaping the industry,” said Karen Chupka, senior vice president, International CES and corporate business strategy, CEA. “The FashionWare TechZone integrates style, function and technology to create a wow-factor, high-tech space at the 2014 CES.”

International CES explains that “The Academia Tech TechZone will be floored within Eureka Park. Academia Tech focuses on the unique technologies coming from colleges and universities. The TechZone will showcase a collection of academic institutions at the 2014 CES, with Columbia University, N.C. State, University of Texas at Austin and Penn State University already confirmed as exhibitors.”

Stay tuned.
