Godzilla 2014 gets involved with the Chongqing sinkhole sits in China, and that city holds some of the largest skinkholes in the World, and yes, in reality.

The photo flying around the Internet, thanks to the work of Legendary Pictures, is actually of two of the Chongqing Sinkhole Sites, but they’re directly connected with Godzilla. Exactly how it’s connected is where Legendary and Warner Bros are asking you to guess – for now.
The photo that’s going around is also connected to the new MUTOResearch.net website. That’s a website specifically designed under the direction and hosting of Warner Bros Marketing for the purpose of launching a viral marketing effort.
Only problem is Warner Bros reps didn’t do a good job of hiding the WHOIS lookup, so now everyone knows it’s connected with the studio because you can see the nameserver reference to, well, WarnerBros!
