UPDATE: Marion Bartoli Over Sabine Lisicki At Wimbledon
Sabine Lisicki v. Marion Bartoli at Wimbleton.
The Wimbleton Ladies Championship is underway. This is not a live-blog of the tournament to end a wild two weeks of play, just an introduction. But, so far in the first game, it’s 40-40, deuce.
So far, Bartoli seems intent on “misdirection” returns, putting the ball in a direction opposite from where Lisicki is going. But Bartoli let the first game get way from her, and lost the first game.
Lisicki’s habit of committing service errors let Marion Bartoli win the second one, and that has continued such that Marion is ahead 4-1 so far.
Have to say, I’m surprised Marion Bartoli’s as strong as she has shown. But that’s also more that Sabine is really making a lot of mistakes, perhaps due to nerves.
