The City Of Oakland Workers Strike means no parking enforcement work on Monday. The standard work of writing parking citations is not a police-done activity in Oakland. Parking enforcement is a public works operation, and is set to be impacted by the same one-day strike.

What that means is simple: you can park anywhere, for as long as you wish, because there will not be Oakland Parking cars moving around with their drivers eager to write tickets.

Given that the City of Oakland made something like $2 million in parking revenue last year, a strike will have some small minor drag on revenue – but just imagine if they elected to stop working for an entire week?
