Jason Collins, who came out as gay Monday, left his totally hot now-ex-fiance Carolyn Moos at the alter in 2009. According to TMZ, Moos, who went to Stanford and met Collins there, had a nine-year relationship with him, which pretty much means it started at Stanford.

Moos told TMZ she never once suspected Jason Collins was gay. “It’s very emotional for me as a woman to have invested 8 years in my dream to have a husband, soul mate, and best friend in him. So this is all hard to understand. I care about [Jason] tremendously and only want the best for him. I want Jason to be happy for a lifetime and stay true to who he really is, inside and out.”
Since Mr. Collins dumped the 6 foot 6 former WNBA player Carolyn Moos in 2009, it makes you wonder what he did between 2009 and 2013 as far as dating was concerned. Being gay implies the existence of a male significant other, so the next obvious question is, did Collins dump Moos for a man?
And what does this say about the future of being straight?
I know it upsets some to ask the question, but cool. It’s important to have meaningful conversations when dramatic social change happens. What I have found is people just want to agree or attack, nothing in between.
