Hope Solo: “We Made (Christine Sinclair) Look Good”

UPDATE: Hope Solo Calls Christine Sinclair “Best In The World”

Man, as much as I dig USA Women’s National Olympics Team Goalkeeper Hope Solo, I have to sadly admit she makes that occasional statement that makes you wince. Unless Yahoo! misquoted her (which is why I love to get video interviews) Hope Solo insulted Canada’s Christine Sinclair when she allegedly remarked “We made her look good.”

The statement turned up in Yahoo!’s Dan Wetzels’ online blog post about the epic battle that saw Alex Morgan hit the header goal to push the USA ahead and to an eventual 4-3 win. But during the game, Solo was getting worked by Sinclair – no one had ever scored three goals on the mighty Hope Solo in one contest before. Now, here comes Sinclair.

But after the battle, and unless Solo was misquoted, which I would hold out hope to think because video is the perfect tool, not short-hand, she basically slammed Sinclair with a statement that’s making a small lap around Twitter, but could eventually grow as large as one of Hope’s training laps for the Olympics.

The perfect World would see Hope clarify her remark, but on the other hand if she wants to be that way and stomp on opponents after Olympics games, all I can say is OK!

But Hope – come on….

Stay tuned.

Comments made by USA women’s Olympics soccer team goalkeeper
Hope Solo, towards Canada’s Olympic soccer team captain, Christine Sinclair,
were insulting and quite ignorant! It’s that type of arrogance and misplaced attitude
is why most of the world hates Americans!

@Majellan Ummm, the very definition of “arrogance” and “misplaced attitude” is the Canadian players and their many post game swipes at the ref, claiming they were “robbed” and that she made up her mind to call the game for the US before it even started.  What they somehow failed to see were the numerous thug like fouls that they got away with, the blatant red card foul by Tancredi that she got away with, and the numerous blatant penalty fouls made by Canada that weren’t called.  Using your logic, maybe “most of the world” should come to their senses and start to hate Canada.

@Sam obviously you watched a different game than the rest of world.  Go back to your Nintendo. The world has come to their senses…GO JAPAN GO!
