Rick Bolander, Managing Partner of Gabriel Venture Partners, sat down with me recently, and after the DEMO event in Santa Clara, to talk about what Gabriel Venture Partners looks for when considering a startup to invest in, and what he saw at DEMO that was interesting to him.

What Redwood City-based Gabriel Venture Partners looks for are companies that are producing “disruptive” products. For those of you not familiar with the term, a “disruptive” product is something like Twitter or the World Wide Web itself – operations that change how we consume media, and “disrupt” how we consume it, leading to the collapse of whole media organizations in the process.

For more on what Rick thinks about “disruptive” companies and also DEMO, watch the video. The link to Part II is at the end of it.

Stay tuned.
