Herman Cain
Well, this blogger was wrong. GOP Presidential Candidate Herman Cain just announced that he’s suspending his campaign. He did this just five minutes ago, and at a brand new headquarters in Doraville, Georgia, outside of Atlanta.

Now, we will never know which groups paid for the opposition research to bring up all of the charges of sexual misconduct Cain says are not true. By dropping out of the race, Cain essentially says they’re true. He says that the toll the constant drumbeat of negative commentary and news about him was taking a toll on his family, and by that he means his wife Gloria.

While not a supporter of Coin, and a constant critic of his, this blogger loved the fact that Cain was really gumming up the Republican Party. But the news that he had an alleged affair with Ginger White: for over 13 years, as well as Ginny’s media tour to talk about her relationship with Cain, took it’s toll on him, his wife, and the on the GOP. It’s too bad because this Dem loved that this was happening and that Cain was staying in and fighting, or as I put it, Cain’s support for Occupy Wall Street.

Cain thinks he can form a voice to call for Washington reform without running for President. But that’s a pipe dream. Now, and you can tell from the reaction of the crowd of supporters, Herman Cain’s lost his voice. While his name recognition will always be much higher than it was when he entered the race, it’s not high enough to be able to draw people and dollars in large numbers.

Now that Cain’s out of the race, he should turn around and apologize to Ginny Price for calling her a looser on his website.

Cain would never have won the GOP nomination, even as he was ahead in the polls. And if he got that far, President Obama would certainly clobber him.

And on that, I hope Mr. Cain now realizes that President Obama’s uniquely equipped to run America. It seemed to me that part of Herman Cain’s motivation for running for President was that a another black guy did it, and won – Barack Obama. I formed that view because Cain started out by calling Barack not a “real black man,” and it went downhill from there. I’ve seen that before, as has anyone African American who is in a place that other African Americans are generally not in – when you become visible there’s always someone else black who wants to diss you just because you’re the first. They say “Oh, I can do that too,” rather than give you support. That was Herman Cain.

Now he’s gone from the race.

But, even with Cain out, it’s still a weak field, best called the six dwarfs now, rather than seven. And the persons who spent the money to do the negative PR against Cain won. We’ll never know who they were.

Stay tuned.
